Weekend at Simcoe's
Again sleep has managed to evade me. Not surprising, as I had slept in until 11 today and took a nap after returning from Simcoe . A tiny town, not even 20,000 people. I had confused it with Simcoe County, the community near Lake Simcoe. No, Simcoe the town is a little over an hour west of Toronto along the 403 (past Hamilton), and another half hour or so south of that, directly on the 24. I know this because I had to look it up and wrote it down -- "403, then 24". Which is not much help when you've been driving for a while and begin to wonder if you've missed your turning, an upsetting reality when you feel you might already be late to meet with your friends. We crawled between a few bars, some of us nearly literally so. I had a great time, something about being a supposed cosmopolitan individual in a quaint, remote, time-forgot-about town.
