Weekend at Simcoe's

Again sleep has managed to evade me. Not surprising, as I had slept in until 11 today and took a nap after returning from Simcoe . A tiny town, not even 20,000 people. I had confused it with Simcoe County, the community near Lake Simcoe. No, Simcoe the town is a little over an hour west of Toronto along the 403 (past Hamilton), and another half hour or so south of that, directly on the 24. I know this because I had to look it up and wrote it down -- "403, then 24". Which is not much help when you've been driving for a while and begin to wonder if you've missed your turning, an upsetting reality when you feel you might already be late to meet with your friends. We crawled between a few bars, some of us nearly literally so. I had a great time, something about being a supposed cosmopolitan individual in a quaint, remote, time-forgot-about town. xplorer2, work lunch update

At work I am constantly having to create, move, and manage directories and files, tasks that while mundane can be a bother when using Windows Explorer. As such, I'm so pleased that I instead use zabkat 's, "xplorer2". Two panes of directories, sorting by extension (instead of "Type", which is utterly useless), double-clicking whitespace to navigate up, and oodles of hotkey options. It's one of those "I didn't realize I needed it until I used it"-type applications, and whenever I use a computer without it I find file management unwieldy. Now there's an awkward word. So we've been more adventurous of late with our lunch options. We've tried Sadie's Diner , over on Adelaide. The menu had some very interesting options, but the kitchen was SUPER slow the time we went, a huge strike against them as we were all quite ravenous with hunger. It was a while ago, so I can't quite remember what I had. I think it was chicken quesadill...
