April election, wiper story, tired of work

So the Liberals have won themselves a minority government. Or rather, the NDP, by offering lame, too-little-too-late alternatives, transferred their seats to them by people who desperately wanted to avoid having the country headed by the un-pretty hate machine that is Pierre Poilievre. I am not happy that the Liberals won but I am relieved that the Conservatives did not. However, knowing that 40% of the country wanted that unctuous cretin as leader is frankly rather alarming.

Yes, the country needs real change but no-one was offering a positive one. Can Carney be pushed to alleviate the woes of his fellow countrymen? Seems doubtful -- a former banker who talks about "catalyz[ing] private investment", which sounds a lot like subsidizing private development and is not exactly the medicine we're all looking for. Those of us who'd like Canada to avoid becoming another burning hellscape have our work cut out.

I while back I wanted to mention that I had to get a new windshield wiper for our car, a 2020 Prius Prime. I found out too late that it has a non-standard wiper fitting when we needed to drive with rain in the forecast. I saw on-line that you can actually just buy the little rubber sleeve separately attach it to the old arm and, in an act of desperation, I was able to coax it off the new wiper and fit it over the old one, no harm done. I'm not sure why I wanted to mention this but there you go.

Myself, I continue along in my little raft on the river of life. My eyes continue to be terrible. I've been enjoying Blue Prince and Black Mesa. Still watching Hajime no Ippo.

As I get older I find myself growing tired of the grind at work, that wearing down of my senses and faculties just to shuffle some bits around. I have, what, another 10 years of this scurrying in front of a glowing screen? I suppose I am mostly comfortable but I would like to be able to turn the wheel of history in a nicer direction.
